Help Stop Hunger
I don’t know if there is anything worse than hunger. The lowest level of basic comfort can be out of reach at difficult times for both the healthy and the sick, for the young and the old, for the working and the not working. Life happens to the best of us. It could happen to you. I remember what it’s like to be hungry. It’s something you never forget – real hunger. Wondering where your next meal is going to come from, and knowing that you did everything that you could, and still life threw you the worst kind of curve ball – and now you’re left worrying where your next meal is coming from.
Folks, you don’t have to go to Africa to find hungry kids. In every town of every westernized nation, in wealthy nations such as the United States and Great Britain, there are kids going hungry, families going hungry every day. Best not talk about them though. Much easier to talk about third world countries than recognize that we are failing at home. It honestly brings tears to my eyes when I think that there are people from all stages of life; the youngest of the young to the oldest of the old that are experiencing hunger. Not the kind of hunger that you get when you missed a meal. I’m talking about the kind of hunger that destroys your soul. The kind of hunger that leaves you feeling that you have failed at the most basic level. Hunger strips your self worth faster than anything I have ever experienced.
At the Vegan Chop House we spend every day thinking about the joy of putting crazy good food on the table and about the enjoyment that food brings to everyone. Food is community, it is love and it is life.

The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, working to connect people with food and end hunger. Donors, staff, and volunteers all play an important role in our efforts to end hunger in the United States.
The Trussell Trust runs a network of over 400 foodbanks, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis across the UK, where thirteen million people live below the poverty line. In the last year we gave 1,182,954 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.
